Once again we took part in Museum Galleries Scotland’s Festival of Museums Event which was held last weekend on Saturday 19th May 2012.
This year our event was held in the Bettyhill Village Hall where we invited experienced crafters to come along and demonstrate their crafts. These included – Pottery – Spinning – Patchwork Quilts – Rag Rugging – Large Pin Crochet and Embroidery. Joanne Kaar also demonstrated the unusual technique of making rope bags, etc from various types of grasses.
Refreshments were also available with home baking our granny would have made and entertainment was provided by Eilidh Munro who played traditional music on her accordian.
Over 70 visitors, tourists and locals attended the event and all enjoyed having a go at all the different crafts.
