Mackay Country Remembers

Strathnaver Museum are embarking on a community research project to gather the stories about the men and women from Mackay Country who took part in WWI but we need your help to discover the stories behind the names. Did you have a relative who was involved in the First World War? We would love to hear from you and learn more about their story.

If you have information and photographs of anyone in your family who served during WWI please email Eileen Mackay on genealogy@strathnavermuseum.org.uk. The information gathered will form a database and photograph album to be placed in our archive and be available to everyone for generations to come.

There are 12 war memorials across Mackay Country and over the coming months we will be gathering information about the men who made the ultimate sacrifice. To view the names and the information we have gathered so far please click on the links below (more will be added soon!).
